About Us

To advance and encourage profitability for our members, promote and protect homeownership, property rights and the REALTOR® brand through the highest standards of integrity and professionalism.

  • The Beaufort-Jasper County REALTORS® (“BJCR”) was chartered on August 5, 1962. Back then we were known as the Beaufort County Association of REALTORS® (“BCAR”).  To more accurately reflect our deep-rooted commitment to the communities of Beaufort County and Jasper County, South Carolina, we officially rebranded to become The Beaufort-Jasper County REALTORS® in 2019. BJCR serves as the “voice of real estate,” within our jurisdiction.
  • BJCR employs a full-time association executive to lead the association’s efforts and drive strategic development of the association in South Carolina, and the broader real estate industry. Additionally, BJCR maintains three full-time staff members, a Member Services Coordinator, an MLS Coordinator, and an IT Administrator to serve its members.
  • BJCR offers an extensive catalog of programming to its members. BJCR offers continuing education classes, broker education classes, “lunch ‘n learn” education sessions, and similar events on many topics, including safety, social media and marketing, tax and assessment, contracts and forms review, as well as professional standards training.
  • BJCR maintains a New Member Orientation program for its new members to help familiarize them with BJCR’s organizational goals, promote professionalism within the real estate industry, and understand the resources BJCR provides. BJCR coordinates quarterly membership luncheons, at no cost to members, and special events where guest speakers address BJCR members, such as state legislators, county government officials, and chamber representatives. BJCR also hosts regular monthly networking events for members. Additionally, BJCR’s affiliate member program allows membership to have a broader reach within the community.
  • To provide its members with pertinent services, BJCR has invested in its wholly-owned multiple listing service subsidiary, Lowcountry Regional Multiple Listing Service, Inc. (“LRMLS”) for the benefit of its members. LRMLS has 1,142 participants and subscribers; participants are required to be REALTORS® under LRMLS policy. LRMLS provides service coverage for all of Beaufort and Jasper counties, as well as other surrounding counties.
