Standards & Ethics

REALTORS® Are the Community Experts.

“The term REALTOR® has come to connote competency, fairness, and high integrity resulting from adherence to a lofty ideal of moral conduct in business relations. No inducement of profit and no instruction from clients ever can justify departure from this ideal.”

– REALTOR® Code of Ethics

Did you know there’s a difference between a real estate licensee and a REALTOR®? Only those who have agreed to abide by the Code of Ethics of the National Association of REALTORS® can call himself/herself a REALTOR®.

The Code includes the professional responsibilities and expectations of REALTOR® members to their clients, customers, fellow REALTORS® and the general public.

There is a professional standards process in place to resolve disputes. If you wish to file an ethics complaint, you will want to start by reviewing the Code of Ethics.

After carefully reading the Code, complete the ethics complaint form, including an explanation of why you believe a specific Article (or Articles) has been violated.

For more information on the process of filing a complaint, visit South Carolina REALTORS®.
